6.2 Earthquake Rattles Fiji Islands

A strong earthquake shook the Fiji Islands and the area northeast of New Zealand Tuesday. The 6.2 magnitude quake struck at 8:39 a.m. Pacific time about 18 miles south of Fiji’s Ndoi Island and 223 miles west of Tonga’s capital Nuku’alofa.
