Western Wildfires Update: 360 Acres Charred Near Santa Clarita, California; Evacuation Orders Lifted

At its height the blaze, called the Calgrove Fire, burned frighteningly close to homes in Santa Clarita. At least 1,000 people were evacuated from some 500 homes in Newell and Santa Clarita. About three dozen horses were also taken to a shelter. Lanes of Interstate 5 were shut down.
