Ukraine’s parliament has appointed a new prime minister, bringing an end to almost two months of political uncertainty but fostering concerns over potential consolidation of the current president’s power.

In remarks to lawmakers, Mr. Groysman said Ukraine’s new government “will be intolerant of corruption,” a persistent problem in this former Soviet republic.
