4.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Oklahomans awake

A 4.5 magnitude earthquake rattled the Sooner State Thursday morning around 3:49 a.m. It was centered in Grant County near Medford, Oklahoma.
It was felt as far east as Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and Claremore. There have been no reports of any injury or damage.

Two patients suspected to be suffering from Ebola have been turned away from a regional hospital because of a shortage of beds.
The two patients, both of whom were showing symptoms of Ebola, were turned away from an East Yorkshire hospital.

Erdogan says he wants to meet Putin 'face to face' at climate summit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday he wanted to meet Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the climate summit in Paris after the downing of a Russian warplane.

Moderate earthquake rumbles off Oregon coast

A moderate earthquake has struck off the coast of southern Oregon. The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 4.4 temblor struck at 11:36 p.m. Wednesday and was centered about 170 miles west of Coos Bay and six miles beneath the seabed.

Myanmar landslide: 'Many missing' at Kachin jade mine

Many people are still missing after a massive landslide at a jade mine in Myanmar's northern Kachin state. At least 104 bodies have now been recovered, with some estimates saying more than 100 people are still missing. Western Kansas experiences tornadoes, blizzard, earthquake in matter of days

Many of us got a powerful wake up call at 1:42 this morning when an earthquake in Oklahoma shook us awake! It had dozens of people calling 911. The quake that measured a magnitude 4.7 was centered near Cherokee, Oklahoma. And we weren’t the only ones to feel it. In fact, it was so powerful that it could be felt more than 950 miles to the west in Tucson, Arizona.

Members of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group have released another 37 Assyrian Christians who had been kidnapped nine months ago. Those freed on November 7th—including men and women in their 60s and 70s—were among the 253 Christians snatched during ISIS attacks on Assyrian villages in Syria’s northeastern Hasaka province. Thankfully, the newly released hostages arrived safely at the local town of Tel Tamar.

US approves genetically modified salmon for food

US regulators have given the go-ahead to genetically modified salmon, making it the first GM animal destined for human consumption. The Food and Drug Administration said it had given approval on the grounds that "food from the fish is safe to eat".
